We’ve recently had this Audi S5 in our workshop for a custom Stage 1 ECU remap as well as a gearbox tune.
The S5 leaves the factory with a respectable 349BHP and 500NM of torque produced from the 3.0 V6 TFSI engine under the bonnet. We were able to unleash an impressive 41BHP and 100NM with our ECU software applied, completely transforming the acceleration and drivability throughout the whole rev range.
As well as having the engine tuned, our customer also chose to have the 8 speed ZF gearbox remapped as well. All automatic gearboxes have maximum torque limits which prevent the engine from developing its potential maximum power throughout the gears. Removing these torque limits allow the engine to put down its true power, without being held back. We also see increased shift times and a quicker response time under maximum acceleration when compared to the standard gearbox.
